5 Tips To Survive Holiday Hosting In Your Apartment Home

Apartment Tips

The season of joy, giving, and gathering is well underway, which means many of us are putting on our hosting hats to bring friends and family together for celebrations! Hosting a holiday party is a fun and rewarding experience, but the responsibilities can lead to a bit of undesired stress as well. There are many things to consider when you plan a party, even more so when you live in an apartment community. We have put together a list of 5 tips to help you host your next holiday party with ease in your apartment home!

1. Take Advantage Of Your Amenities

Hosting a celebration in your apartment community's amenity spaces has many benefits. There is no need to worry about preparing your home for guests when hosting in a well-maintained amenity space. In addition, you won't have to worry about disturbing your neighbors with guests coming and going or the echoing of laughter. All of our apartment communities boast beautiful kitchens and generous room for guests. Not to mention, they are already decorated and modernly designed. We recommend reaching out to your leasing office to see what amenities your community has available to benefit you this holiday season.

2. Use Minimalist Decorations

Minimalism is on trend, which is fantastic news for all of us hosting holiday festivities! Minimalism allows for easy setup and tear down, and minimal storage space will be needed when the holiday season comes to a close. When applying the "less is more" rule to your party decor, you also allow yourself more freedom in your budget to spend on other things, whether that's food, gifts, or an all-expenses-paid trip to a relaxing destination that takes holiday stress away come January 1st (we recommend the latter).

3. Use E-Invites To Organize Your Guest List

Depending on the size of your gathering, you may want to consider using a virtual option to send invitations and keep your RSVP count in order. Each of our apartment communities has free Wi-Fi in common areas for residents to utilize, which means even fewer expenses for your party planning! Not only are they easy to keep straight, but e-invites are far less costly than paper invites and postage.

4. Prepare Food Ahead of Time

What adds the most stress to your plate? For many of us, it is preparing food for our guests! Rushing to get a hot meal together with only moments left until guests arrive can be a recipe for disaster. We highly recommend taking a look at food options that can be prepared in advance and stored in your fridge until your party. Consider a winter wreath-inspired charcuterie board like the one that we found on Pinterest! (opens in a new tab)

5. Be Present.

Most important of all, remember to be present at your celebration. No matter how your party comes together, the most important thing to remember is how precious a gift it is to be together. Wishing you all joy and laughter this Holiday Season!
