Becovic Management Group Expands Downtown Jacksonville Presence

Becovic Management Group is thrilled to announce a major expansion in Jacksonville, Florida, marking a significant milestone in our continued growth across the Southeast.

As part of this exciting step forward, we have officially opened our second corporate headquarters in Downtown Jacksonville, strategically located in the Bank of America Tower in the heart of the city.
This new office brings our leadership and team closer to the communities we serve and invest in, strengthens our partnerships, and underscores our commitment to being deeply rooted in the markets where we work and grow.
Reviving Historic Landmarks and Growing Our Presence

In tandem with our new headquarters, Becovic Management Group has acquired the historic Barnett Building, an 18-story mixed-use landmark in downtown. Originally constructed in 1926 and long a part of Jacksonville’s historic skyline, the Barnett Building currently includes 107 apartment homes along with commercial space and institutional tenants. While portions of the property have been renovated, the building still lacks fully realized amenity spaces and planned residential units. As Joshua Roberts, Director of Acquisitions for BMG, explained, “That building has no amenities. So the third floor will be an amenity center, which will start immediately” and two additional floors will be converted into new multifamily units, projected to add roughly 18–20 units to the community. We are committed to honoring the historic character of the Barnett Building while enhancing it for modern living and bringing dynamic, desirable spaces to residents and helping strengthen Downtown Jacksonville’s urban core.
Revitalizing the Laura Street Trio
Our plans also include the acquisition and redevelopment of the Laura Street Trio, three adjacent historic structures that have stood vacant for decades. When complete, this ambitious project will transform these long-underutilized buildings into a vibrant mixed-use destination featuring multifamily residences, hotel space, retail, dining, and commercial hospitality. As Roberts shared regarding the Trio, “Our plan is to renovate the three existing buildings as quickly as possible, and then there will be a new construction component that will come after that,” adding that phasing the work will deliver a finished product faster than originally anticipated. Jacksonville city leaders also recognize the importance of this project. Jacksonville City Council President Kevin Carrico noted that Becovic’s involvement “gives the Trio new hope to be restored and innovative into something that could be great for downtown,” and the Downtown Investment Authority expressed enthusiasm for partnering to support a responsible and timely redevelopment of these landmark assets. Looking Ahead
This expansion reflects Becovic Management Group’s strategic growth in multifamily development and property management, and it demonstrates our long-term belief in Jacksonville’s potential. By establishing a corporate presence here and investing in transformative projects, we are proud to support the revitalization of Downtown Jacksonville and contribute to its economic and community growth.
We are excited for what’s ahead and look forward to sharing future updates as these projects progress. Jacksonville’s rich history and vibrant future make this an inspiring place to build, invest, and grow alongside community partners and residents who make the city such a remarkable place to live and work.
